Richarlison has reportedly now told his friends that he wants to leave Everton and sign for Tottenham Hotspur.

The Lowdown: Everton’s saviour

It is safe to say that the 25-year-old saved the Goodison Park outfit from getting relegated last season, with six goals and two assists in his last ten matches in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).

Dubbed ‘magnificent’ by former Toffees midfielder Leon Osman after his match-winning goal at home to Chelsea in early May, the Brazil international may be hard to keep hold of this summer.

The Latest: Richarlison admission

As per Football Insider, Richarlison has now ‘told friends’ that he is ‘keen’ on signing for Spurs and playing in the Champions League next season.

Talks have taken place this week between both clubs over a potential deal, but Everton are holding out for a fee of around £50m.

The Verdict: Sell?

If Richarlison is unhappy at Goodison Park, then it may be the best option to sell him, so long as the Toffees can get the right price.

Nonetheless, it would be difficult to turn down a move to Tottenham at this stage in his career, so this is a deal that Everton need to get right.

Wolves are reportedly interested in signing Brazilian striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa this summer, and the Flamengo marksman could the missing piece of the puzzle in Bruno Lage’s side next season.

What’s the word?

In a recent interview with GiveMeSport, journalist Dean Jones stated: “Gabigol is definitely on the agenda at Wolves but I’m slightly sceptical about him going there – I get the impression this might be leverage for other teams to come in.

“But he does want to come to the Premier League, he is affordable and Wolves are interested.”

Supporters will be buzzing

Given Wolves’ woes in front of goal last season, ‘Gabigol’ could be exactly what Lage needs in order to push the Old Gold up the table next term.

Only the relegated trio of Burnley, Watford and Norwich scored fewer goals than them in the top flight in 2021/22, which suggests that attacking reinforcements are a must this summer, as there is no guarantee that the defensive stability of last season will carry over into the next campaign.

Aside from disappointing loan spells with Benfica and Inter, the 25-year-old striker has enjoyed a fairly prolific career in his home country, hitting 100 goals in 153 appearances for Flamengo, along with 43 goals for Santos at the outset of his career.

He is also a regular for Brazil with 18 caps to his name, which suggests that he could adapt to the demands of the Premier League next season with Wolves, as he is far more developed now than he was during his time in Portugal and Italy.

Considering that Raul Jimenez was Wolves’ top scorer in the top flight last term with just six goals to his name, you could definitely argue that Lage needs a more clinical option up front. Barbosa could provide just that, with legendary Inter striker Adriano describing him as “decisive” in 2021, when transfer reports stated that Flamengo would likely demand at least £30m for his services.

Although Jones was uncertain about whether or not the Brazilian would make the move to Molineux, Wolves supporters will surely be delighted to hear that they are interested in signing the 25-year-old, given his obvious goalscoring pedigree.

The Verdict: Why…

This update certainly lifts the lid Raphinha’s apparent desperation to move on, with Barca such a huge lure for Brazilian players, given some of the legendary figures from that country to have played for the club in the past.

It looks as though Leeds are increasingly resigned to the fact that the winger will move on, but while it is pointless keeping hold of an unhappy player, it is important that they don’t end up selling him on the cheap.

The Whites need to earn a significant amount for him, allowing Jesse Marsch to replace him and also have funds available for other key summer additions. With Premier League clubs sniffing around and the chance of a bidding war, we feel Radz and the 49ers would be foolish to take a penny less than the original £60m price.

What’s the word?

The north London outfit have been linked with a sensational return for Christian Eriksen, who has just been named on Brentford’s release list, despite manager Thomas Frank being hopeful of him extending his stay at the Bees.

According to the BBC, the Danish playmaker is yet to decide where he will be playing next season, with Spurs, Everton and Manchester United keen on his signature.

Brentford had offered him a new long-term extension earlier this month, as per Sky Sports, but this latest update leaves the Lilywhites now free to negotiate his return.

Summer bargain

Bringing Eriksen back to Hotspur Way without costing owners, the ENIC Group, a penny would be a very shrewd decision indeed.

The 30-year-old maestro left N17 for Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan in January 2020 and Spurs have suffered for creativity ever since, and now with the Italian in the dugout in the English capital, a reunion could make a lot of sense.

Only Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski are close to matching his returns, both averaging an xA of 0.25.

There’s no doubt that Erisken remains a favourite around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and it’s easy to see why given former manager Mauricio Pochettino’s past remarks.

“He is so special and we always call him Golazo, because he is capable of scoring unbelievable goals. The recognition from us is massive. It is true he is so quiet, so calm. He is a very relaxed person but he loves football,” he once claimed.

Eriksen is currently valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, so to sign him for nothing is certainly something of a steal.

It could well be time to bring the Dane back home, the place where he delivered 69 goals and 90 assists across 304 appearances.

While Pulisic hasn’t necessarily set the world alight a Chelsea, he is an excellent young player who has huge potential, having been hailed as ‘world-class’ by BBC’s Pat Nevin in the past.

He possesses the pace and trickery to slot into Liverpool’s attack and his versatility means he is capable of thriving on either wing or even in a central role, so he could provide good competition in attacking areas.

Whether or not Chelsea are willing to sell Pulisic to a direct rival is unknown, however, which could act as a possible stumbling block.

The lowdown: Flattered to deceive

Signed for £25.1m from Juventus in 2019 (BBC), the Italy international arrived on Merseyside with the world seemingly at his feet having made a successful transition from youth starlet to first-team performer in his homeland.

Following a disappointing debut campaign which yielded just four direct goal involvements in 29 Premier League outings, the young striker was sent out on loan to Paris Saint-Germain, where he appeared to recapture some form with 13 goals in 26 Ligue 1 appearances.

However, after just two more fleeting cameos for the Toffees, the 22-year-old was loaned back to Juventus last September for two years with an obligation to buy, but he now faces an uncertain future…

The latest: Kean’s Everton future in doubt

Speaking to GiveMeSport, journalist Brown dismissed the notion of the 12-cap Italy ace ever returning to Goodison Park.

He explained: “It’s clear he hasn’t got a future at Everton, and I don’t think he wants one either, I think that’s also quite clear.

“The move didn’t work out for him and the man that brought him in, Marcel Brands has gone and it’s a completely different club now.”

The verdict: Not worth it

Lauded as ‘fearless’ by Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, under whom Kean played at PSG, there is certainly a top-level player waiting to be unleashed in the 22-year-old. However, seemingly unwanted by Juventus, he is now stuttering along in a career which is in danger of stagnating at a very early stage.

During 2021/22 the Italian scored six times and provided three assists in 44 appearances across all competitions, another below-par campaign from a young forward with an abundance of talent.

Couple these on-field struggles when it comes to output with the fallout when replaced by Duncan Ferguson against Manchester United in 2019, and Frank Lampard may be best served to avoid bringing a disenchanted Kean back to Merseyside, even in light of the possibility of losing frontline duo Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Speaking to Football Insider about the potential of Bassey following Gerrard from Ibrox to Villa Park, Agbonlahor suggested that the proposed switch made plenty of sense.

The regular talkSPORT pundit said: “The problem with Rangers and Celtic is they can’t pay the money that teams in the Premier League can. Goldson’s trying to move for financial reasons.

“What can Rangers offer Bassey? That’s the issue. He could probably get double the money at Aston Villa. I’m sure he would be reluctant to sign a new contract and see what is out there for him, to be honest.

That’s according to reports in Spain (via Sport Witness), who claim that the 35-year-old shot-stopper will return to Elland Road following the conclusion of his season-long loan deal with Elche CF, with it appearing likely that Leeds’ Spanish sporting director will then terminate the former Spain international’s contract in LS11 – which is due to run until the summer of 2023.

Orta must axe Casilla

Liverpool have been linked with Paris Saint Germain striker Kylian Mbappe for some time now, and now a new update has emerged in the French media that the club could yet again be showing interest in the star.

According to French news outlet L’Equipe (via Sport Witness), Liverpool have ‘entered the dance’ to sign Mbappe this summer.

He’s better than Haaland

Premier League title-chasing rivals Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Erling Haaland this week and there would be no better response by the powers at Anfield if they could acquire the services of one of the only young forwards that can compete with the Borussia Dortmund striker’s goal contributions.

In 44 appearances this season Mbappe who was hailed the “golden boy” by teammate Neymar, has put up astonishing numbers for his Ligue 1  club with 35 goals scored and an impressive 24 assists in all competitions.

The talented PSG star has guided his team to another league title and by scoring six important Champions League goals saw his team compete with Real Madrid but unfortunately his game-winning goal in Paris and a second strike at the Bernabeu were not enough to secure progression against the now finalists.

When you compare these achievements to Haaland this season, the Bundesliga forward has scored almost as many goals as games played with 28 goals in 29 appearances and eight assists, and although playing fewer games than Mbappe he almost caught him up for goal contributions per minute with a goal or assist every 63.8 minutes. However, his position competitor just clinches it by scoring or assisting every 63.2 minutes.

There is a lot of debate on who is better out of the pair, and if Liverpool were able to bring Mbappe to the Premier League next season it would not only be a huge coup for Jurgen Klopp but would be a real test for the pair to go head-to-head in the title race and domestic competitions.

With that being said, the Merseyside club are extremely unlikely to match the wage demands that other clubs interested are likely to offer with a strict and uncompromising wage structure built by FSG that has reportedly seen players like Salah stuck in a stalemate during contract negotiations currently.
