Steven Smith and Warner stood down as captain and vice-captain

Wicketkeeper Tim Paine will lead the side for the last two days of the contest, and Smith and Warner will play under him

Daniel Brettig in Cape Town25-Mar-2018Steven Smith and David Warner have been removed as Australia’s captain and vice-captain for the remainder of the Cape Town Test against South Africa, as the first fallout of the ball-tampering confession Australia made on the third day of the Test. Wicketkeeper Tim Paine will lead the side for the last two days of the contest.”Following discussions with Steve Smith and David Warner they have agreed to stand down as captain and vice-captain respectively for the remainder of this Test match,” Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland said on the morning of the fourth day’s play. “This Test match needs to proceed, and in the interim we will continue to investigate this matter with the urgency that it demands.”As I said earlier today, Cricket Australia and Australian cricket fans expect certain standards of conduct from cricketers representing our country, and on this occasion these standards have not been met. All Australians, like us, want answers and we will keep you updated on our findings as a matter of priority.”The CA chairman David Peever said the decision to appoint Paine followed an emergency Board meeting. The CA integrity chief Iain Roy and team performance manager Pat Howard are en route to Cape Town. “The Board of Cricket Australia has endorsed Tim Paine to step in as acting captain for the remainder of this Test,” he said. “Both Steve and David will take to the field today under Tim’s captaincy.”The Board fully supports the process for an immediate investigation into what occurred in Cape Town. We regard this as a matter of the utmost seriousness and urgency. We will ensure we have all information available to make the right decisions for Australian cricket.”Roy’s arrival and investigation may result in charges under CA’s code of behaviour, which features separate clauses relating to “unbecoming conduct” and “cheating”.The decision to remove Smith and Warner, who took the field at Newlands under Paine’s leadership, came hours after the Australian government had called on Cricket Australia to take such a decision. The country’s Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has also called the incident a “shocking disappointment”.The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Chair John Wylie, the ASC Board, and CEO Kate Palmer – essentially speaking for the Australian government – called for severe action against more of the team. “The ASC condemns cheating of any form in sport,” it said in a statement. “The ASC expects and requires that Australian teams and athletes demonstrate unimpeachable integrity in representing our country.”Given the admission by Australian captain Steve Smith, the ASC calls for him to be stood down immediately by Cricket Australia, along with any other members of the team leadership group or coaching staff who had prior awareness of, or involvement in, the plan to tamper with the ball. This can occur while Cricket Australia completes a full investigation.”The incident took place during the afternoon session and was picked up on by TV cameras. A small, yellow object was seen in Bancroft’s hands after he had worked on the ball, and he was also captured taking it from his pocket and placing it down his trousers. The footage showed Bancroft rubbing the rough side of the ball, the opposite side to which he would usually be trying to shine on his trousers. He put the object down his pants apparently after being spoken to by the substitute Peter Handscomb, who had come on to the field after speaking to coach Darren Lehmann over walkie talkie. Lehmann seemed to speak to Handscomb after footage of Bancroft working on the ball was shown on the TV screens at the ground. The umpires Nigel Llong and Richard Illingworth were then seen speaking with Bancroft, though they did not choose to change the ball or penalise the Australians five runs – the statutory on-field penalty for illegally changing the condition of the ball. When Bancroft spoke to the umpires, he was shown holding a bigger, black cloth rather than the small yellow object he had earlier seemed to place down his trousers.Smith and Bancroft owned up to the offence at the press conference after play on the third day, and Smith said the leadership group within the team had known about the plan to tamper with the ball.

IPL qualification scenarios – RCB, Mumbai keep pressure on KKR, Royals

Because of their poor net run rates, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals might need to do more than finish on 14 points to make the playoffs

ESPNcricinfo staff15-May-2018
If KKR win:

  • They will be closer to qualification on 14 points with a game left, but not yet assured of a playoff spot. While KKR’s net run rate is better than the two other teams on 12 points – Royals and Kings XI Punjab – the two teams on 10 points after 12 games – Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore – have better NRRs. If those two teams win their two remaining games and finish on 14, along with KKR, their NRRs will be better.
  • A loss for Royals won’t rule them out, but it will make their last league game – against RCB in Jaipur – a high-pressure contest. They will be on 12 points going into that game, while RCB could be on 10 or 12 points – depending on the result of their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad – with a better NRR. In fact, because their NRR is relatively poor (-0.347), any situation that comes down to this might not favour Royals.

If Royals win:

  • Because KKR and Royals have the same points and a negative net run rate after the same number of games, what applies to both teams – and the rest of the field – if KKR win, applies if Royals win too. So, even with a win, Royals won’t be assured of a playoff spot, because three teams could still beat them on NRRs.
  • Similarly, a loss won’t rule out Knight Riders, but could make their final match – against Sunrisers – a must-win game.

John Knox replaces John Warn as Cricket NSW chairman

John Knox has been involved in numerous key junctures of Cricket Australia’s recent history, notably playing an advisory role in the television rights negotiations of 2013 and this year

Daniel Brettig04-Jun-2018Longtime Cricket Australia ally and Credit Suisse chief executive John Knox is the new chairman of Cricket New South Wales, after the incumbent John Warn chose to retire from a role he has held since 2013.Warn, a Westfield executive who became chairman amid a period of instability and the exits of Harry Harinath as chairman and David Gilbert as chief executive, had since overseen the association’s growth alongside the CEO Andrew Jones. Through his stint, he’s had to deal with numerous spot-fires, including a rocky relationship with the SCG Trust and last year’s pay dispute between the players, CA and the state associations. He will remain a NSW director while spending more time with family.NSW recently appointed Phil Jaques to replace Trent Johnston as coach of the state team following an underwhelming recent run of results on the field and questions about talent development. Australia’s most populous cricket state played its most recent Sheffield Shield final in 2014.”I have been honoured, proud and humbled to be Cricket NSW Chair. I retire as Chair with great confidence in CNSW’s future,” Warn said. “The time is right for me to invest time back into my family, and pass the reins to John Knox. There is no doubt the challenge for me of balancing work, cricket and young family has been at times a difficult task, but one that I cherish as I love the game so much – I owe the game everything.”I make this decision with my family first, everything else second. The board and I responsibly had a strong succession plan in place, and I would like to formally thank my fellow board members, Cricket NSW Staff, especially CEO Andrew Jones, and all delegate members for their support.”Knox, meanwhile, has been involved in numerous key junctures of CA’s recent history, notably playing an important advisory role in the television rights negotiations of 2013 and this year. The 2013 deal created competition in the marketplace for the first time, as Nine were compelled to pay more than it preferred for the rights to international cricket after Ten made a combined bid for all matches including the Big Bash League. This year’s bid took CA’s broadcast rights value beyond the A$1 billion mark for the first time, albeit with the loss of two out of three international men’s formats from free-to-air television.Prior to those two deals, Knox was influential in drafting the private ownership prospectus for Big Bash League franchises in 2010-11 that ultimately saw CA retain ownership of all teams. He joined the NSW Board in 2014. “I am honoured to have been elected chair of the most successful domestic organisation in world cricket and thank the Cricket NSW Board for its support,” Knox said.”John retires as Chair with NSW Cricket in excellent shape. Much of that is due to his outstanding leadership over the past 5 years. From Day 1 he drove very significant renewal and growth, working in partnership with all players, staff and Directors and our CEO Andrew Jones. This growth has occurred in every area of our operation.”Our professional teams have won every available title in the past five years, including a Sheffield Shield, BBL, two JLT Cups, four WNCLs and four WBBL/WT20s. Meanwhile NSW has regularly provided over half of Australia’s Test teams, including eight of the top-ranked male and female players in the world.”We also led the professionalisation of the Lendlease NSW Breakers in 2016, a landmark moment for cricket and indeed for Australian sport. At pathway level, we have doubled the opportunities for NSW Metro and ACT-NSW Country cricketers while still winning 85% of the titles available. And in community cricket, NSW has passed 400,000 participants for the first time.”Knox also pointed to governance reforms as part of Warn’s legacy. “John has also overseen significant governance reform which has allowed us to increase the quality and diversity of our Board without compromising our members’ rights to choose their representatives,” he said. “John has done all this through a signature combination of integrity, hard work and respect for all NSW Cricket stakeholders.”Our Directors are still volunteers and John has given thousands of hours of his time on top of a demanding job and busy family life. He deserves our warmest thanks and congratulations for an outstanding contribution to NSW cricket.”

World Cup final tickets being offered for resale at £16,000

On Friday morning, two seats in the Compton Stand were on sale on StubHub for more than 50 times their original price

ESPNcricinfo staff12-Jul-2019Tickets for Sunday’s World Cup final between England and New Zealand at Lord’s are being offered for resale with a mark-up of thousands of pounds, despite the ICC warning it will cancel tickets purchased via unauthorised outlets. The ICC provides its own platform on which unwanted tickets can be sold on, and has repeatedly made clear its dissatisfaction with secondary ticketing sites offering seats at vastly inflated prices. On Friday morning, two seats in the Compton Stand were on sale on StubHub for £16,584.80 (US$20,776) each – more than 50 times their face value of £295. Several other packages were being touted at prices of £3000-4000 (US$3700-5000).The ICC has previously counselled those with unwanted tickets not to use unauthorised resale sites.”In order to maximise attendance and support the long-term growth of cricket, we have worked hard to ensure that genuine fans from around the world can attend CWC19, with an affordable and fair ticket-pricing policy being a top priority for this tournament,” Steve Elworthy, ICC Cricket World Cup managing director, said.World Cup final tickets for sale on StubHub•Screenshot

“It is therefore very disappointing to see tickets on secondary ticketing websites selling at vastly inflated prices. We are doing our utmost to limit the secondary ticket market, however, a lack of legislation in the UK means we are restricted in the preventative action we can take to stop fans being ripped off and forced to pay over the odds. We have been and will continue to cancel the accounts and tickets we see being sold on secondary sites.”The only way fans can guarantee their ticket will be valid is to buy it from the Official Ticket Re-sale Platform, which allows fans unable to attend the final to sell to other genuine fans at face value. Anyone purchasing tickets from an unauthorised source, either online or in person, faces the risk of being left out of pocket and unable to enter the venue.”Tickets for the final were originally sold in Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze bands, ranging in price from £395 (US$495) to £95 (US$120). The ICC site offers fans until midday on Saturday to put unwanted tickets up for sale. There had previously been concerns about the possibility of low attendance for the semi-final between England and Australia at Edgbaston – although in the end the ground was very near full – with many tickets having been bought in advance by India fans expecting their side to play there. A similar situation could affect the final, after India suffered a surprise defeat to New Zealand at Old Trafford.England and New Zealand will contest the World Cup final, with both teams looking to lift the trophy for the first time. The game will be broadcast free-to-air in both countries, after the respective host broadcasters made arrangements to lower their paywalls.

Ross Taylor comes out of retirement to play for Samoa at T20 World Cup regional qualifiers

“Huge honour to represent my heritage, culture, villages, and family,” he says after being named in Samoa’s squad for the Asia-East Asia-Pacific T20 World Cup 2026 qualifier

ESPNcricinfo staff05-Sep-2025Ross Taylor, the 41-year-old former New Zealand captain, will represent Samoa in the upcoming Asia-East Asia-Pacific T20 World Cup 2026 qualifier in Oman, which could help them qualify for the 2026 T20 World Cup. Taylor was named in the 15-man squad, to be led by Caleb Jasmat, on Friday.”Excited. It’s been a few months in the pipeline, but obviously the team just got announced today, so… exciting to represent the country of my mother’s birth,” Taylor told New Zealand Cricket in a chat. “I always wanted to give back to the Polynesian community in some sort of way. I always thought it would be more in a coaching and other avenues, I never thought I would play [for Samoa]. But as the opportunity arose, looking forward to getting out there and hopefully representing and doing my best for Samoa.”It’s the first time that Samoa are being to a qualifying tournament like this, in Oman. Nice for some other players, who have Samoan heritage and are being able to play for Samoa in this tournament and hopefully go as far as we can.”He is still New Zealand’s fifth-most prolific run-scorer in T20Is despite last playing a game in the format in November 2020.

Taylor hasn’t played competitively since December 2023, when he turned out in the Legends League Cricket tournament in India.”I’ve obviously not played a lot of cricket like we used to. So a bit of a shock to the system. But [I] played in some tournaments, so it’s not as if I have gone three or four years without having played,” he said. “But yeah, need to get up to speed as quickly as I can and it’s always good to train for a month or so, a couple of months to just see how the body reacts and hopefully… it’s not what it used to be at 41, but hopefully it’s good enough.”Good enough to take on New Zealand if their paths cross at the World Cup (if, of course, Samoa get there)? “That’d be strange but cool. That’s the ultimate goal, get to the next stage, the World Cup. “Taylor wasn’t the only major inclusion in the Samoa squad for the qualifiers: 32-year-old Sean Solia, another player who has years of experience playing in New Zealand – for Auckland, not internationally – was named in the squad too. Taylor and Solia are expected to add muscle to a batting line-up that has among its stars Darius Visser, who entered the record books by smashing six sixes in a 39-run over (inclusive of three wides) against Vanuatu’s Nalin Nipiko in August 2024.At the qualifiers – which they reached by trumping Vanuatu, Cook Islands and Fiji – Samoa join Papua New Guinea and Japan as East Asia-Pacific representatives, with Oman, Nepal, Kuwait, Malaysia, Qatar and UAE as the other competitors.

Georgia Adams half-century helps Loughborough to third win in a row

Lancashire Thunder out of contention for knockouts after slipping to DLS defeat

ECB Reporters Network20-Aug-2019Loughborough Lightning 157 for 7 (Adams 50, Ecclestone 3-17) beat Lancashire Thunder 74 for 6 (Gordon 3-18) by 35 runs (DLS method)Loughborough Lightning secured a third successive Kia Super League win with a 35-run victory over winless Lancashire Thunder on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method at Old Trafford. The Lightning’s victory was underpinned by a superb recovery with the bat. Having lost early wickets they scored at more than 10 an over after the Powerplay to make 157 for 7 – Georgia Adams the standout with 50.After a bright start, the Thunder lost key wickets and were stifled by a strong bowling display and brilliant fielding by Loughborough, who eased to victory as the rain came. Lancashire are now mathematically unable to qualify for Finals Day.Tahlia McGrath set about trying to make light work of the chase of 158, and crucially getting Thunder ahead of the DLS rate, smashing two huge sixes into the stands off Kathryn Bryce in the fourth over. But Hayley Matthews hit back in the sixth over with two wickets. First McGrath fell for 26 to a superb one-handed grab by Chamari Atapattu at mid-off before Matthews took an equally spectacular caught-and-bowled effort to remove Sophia Dunkley for a duck.Thunder were 34 for 2 after the Powerplay. South Africa allrounder Sune Luus batted well to guide her side to 60 for 2 at halfway, but two wickets fell in consecutive overs as Harmanpreet Kaur was caught in the deep for 7 and Emma Lamb was bowled for a duck.As the rain began to pour down on Old Trafford, Lightning struck two decisive blows as Kirstie Gordon took wickets in consecutive balls with Luus caught for 30 and Sophie Ecclestone for a first-ball duck.Gordon was deprived a hat-trick delivery as the weather cut the match short with Thunder 74 for 6 after 13.4 overs of their innings.Having won the toss, Thunder enjoyed an excellent powerplay. Kate Cross trapped England team-mate Amy Jones lbw for a duck in the second over, before Ecclestone struck twice to remove Matthews and Atapattu.Loughborough were 18 for 3 after six overs but Mignon du Preez counterattacked, launching Alex Hartley down the ground for six. Forty-one runs came in four overs after the Powerplay, as du Preez and Georgia Elwiss put on a 47-run partnership in just 31 balls.Lamb struck to bowl Du Preez for 18 but Elwiss continued the aggression, smashing a huge six over midwicket. The England star fell for 38, brilliantly caught by McGrath as Cross claimed her second wicket to make it 72 for 5. But Loughborough’s recovery was not stalled by the loss of wickets as Adams and Bryce took up the baton, reaching their 50 partnership in 29 balls. Both were dismissed in the final over of the innings – Bryce bowled by for an 18-ball 32 and Adams run out for a superb 50 from 33 balls – but their partnership of 82 in 45 balls proved crucial.

Five-ball overs in prospect for the Hundred?

Trent Woodhill appointed as consultant as ECB finetune plans for new competition in 2020

ESPNcricinfo staff19-Jul-2018The latest plans for the ECB’s new 100-ball competition, due to be introduced in 2020, could involve 20 five-ball overs, instead of the traditional six, to be bowled in blocks of ten deliveries from each end.The reports of a rejigged format come after the ECB were forced to ditch their original notion of 15 six-ball overs and a single ten-delivery final over following strong opposition from the Professional Cricketers’ Association.Instead, the fielding captain could now be given the option to retain a given bowler for ten deliveries in a row if they are performing well. The proposals are being fine-tuned by an ECB steering group, chaired by Clare Connor, with the reduction in end-changes allowing the game to be further sped up – a significant factor in the original framing of the competition, with ECB research suggesting that new audiences are put off by the length of time that matches take to be completed.Under these revised regulations, all matches can be expected to fit comfortably into a two-and-a-half hour window from 6.30pm to 9pm.The notion of bowling consecutive overs from the same end, while radical, is not unheard of in English cricket, with many parks leagues in England and Wales adopting such a policy to hasten the progress of evening matches.According to the , trial matches for the new competition are expected to take place in September, with Trent Bridge earmarked for the men’s teams and Loughborough for the women. Nottinghamshire have no home fixtures scheduled between September 14-23.To help lay the groundwork from a playing perspective, the ECB have hired Trent Woodhill, the general manager of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Melbourne Stars, as a consultant on a one-month contract.Renowned as an innovative thinker, Woodhill has previously worked as a batting coach with Pakistan and was John Wright’s assistant with New Zealand between 2010 and 2012. His varied career also includes stints as an analyst at Surrey and working in junior cricket in New South Wales, and his input will be sought on the operational elements of franchise cricket.Woodhill met with England Lions players at New Road on Wednesday, and is expected to speak to county directors of cricket over the next few weeks.

Rahul fifty takes India's lead past 150 after England strike early

Shubman Gill departed for 8 on the fourth morning as Brydon Carse took his second wicket

Lunch A slow session for India but a successful one. Though they only managed to add 63 runs during day four’s morning session at Headingley, they survived 24.1 overs for the loss of just a single wicket. Even though it was their captain Shubman Gill who fell, a score of 153 for 3 and a lead of 159 has them in good shakes in the midst of a second-innings shootout in this first Test against England.KL Rahul’s dogged 72 not out, his 26th fifty-plus score in Tests, came amid a wave of outstanding bowling from England’s quicks, and a few pings on the top hand administered by Ben Stokes, as this pitch shows further signs of irregular bounce.Brydon Carse set the tone and the standard early with a six-over morning spell (1 for 12) from the Kirkstall Lane End that accounted for Gill. India’s No. 4 skewed on to the base of his off stump after deviation from a length delivery found an inside edge as he attempted to play through gully. That, however, was England’s only success in a session littered with beaten outside edges. It should not have been, of course. Harry Brook, the beneficary of three lives in his innings of 99, repaid the favour with a drop at gully when Rahul, on 55, attempted a second consecutive guide to the deep-third boundary off Josh Tongue. The strike was out of character from Rahul, who had shown great restraint with overcast, cooler conditions stacking the odds against the batters. By contrast, Rishabh Pant was his usual ball of chaos, charging Chris Woakes and skewing over the cordon from his second ball. He had done exactly the same in his first innings – charging Stokes second ball – but had made far better contact then.It was truly a comical start from Pant, who had to be calmed down by Rahul after moving to 15 with a mow across the line for a fortuitous boundary off Carse, with Shoaib Bashir at fine leg, and Joe Root running back from the cordon, desperate to meet it before it hit the ground. Three deliveries later, Pant was subject to a voracious lbw appeal as he fell away to the off side attempting his patented fall-away ramp.Umpire Paul Reiffel gave it not out and England’s review proved him right, with an inside edge. But it was enough of a warning for Pant to control himself a little more. His next 16 runs came from 36 deliveries, as he and Rahul managed to get to the break with their stand intact on 61.

Lalit Modi pours scorn on 'overambitious' Hundred in leaked financial projections

IPL founder dismisses projected value of competition and eight teams in post on X/Twitter

Andrew Miller26-Sep-2024Lalit Modi, the founder and architect of the Indian Premier League, has accused the ECB of being “disconnected from reality” in their ambitions for the Hundred, after leaking the board’s confidential financial projections for the tournament, and its valuations of each of the eight teams. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Modi published details from the prospectus that the ECB’s financial advisors, Raine Group and Deloitte, has sent out (under NDA) to its potential investors, alongside a lengthy post in which he dismissed their calculations as “dangerously overambitious and unsustainable”.Modi’s intervention is an awkward setback in the ECB’s bid to secure private investment for their tournament, and comes after Vikram Banerjee, the board’s director of business operations, admitted earlier this week that they could be forced to delay the Hundred’s equity sale beyond 2025 if the right investors cannot be secured in time for next summer’s competition. As recently as February, Modi himself was reportedly an interested party, telling The Telegraph that he had valued the Hundred at US$1 billion over a ten-year period, and that he had private investors ready to get behind an expanded ten-team tournament. However, his informal offer is believed to have been turned down by the ECB who did not want to sell the competition outright. Now, however, Modi has poured scorn on the tournament’s viability. Though he accepts it is “plausible” that the ECB’s domestic TV rights will rise in value as projected, from £54 million to £85 million annually, he issued a withering assessment of the Hundred’s place in the international market, where it faces particular competition from rival Northern Hemisphere tournaments such as the Caribbean Premier League and Major League Cricket in the USA.Related

“The ECB’s financial projections for The Hundred, particularly beyond 2026, appear overly optimistic and disconnected from reality,” he wrote. “The International TV rights figures make little sense, given the global competition from other cricket leagues like the IPL. It’s unlikely The Hundred will attract the necessary international audience to justify these inflated numbers.”The ECB is understood to have anticipated some pushback against its figures, with potential investors inevitably seeking a favourable deal, and point to Modi’s prior interest in the tournament as proof of concept.Nevertheless, his criticism is significant, because it was Modi’s establishment of the IPL in 2008 that unleashed the full potential of T20 cricket in the first place, a format that the ECB themselves devised in 2002, but failed to adequately market – an oversight that played a role in the board settling on 100-ball cricket as its new point of difference.Fifteen years later, the IPL’s media rights for 2023 to 2027 were secured for a record US$6.2 billion, cementing it as the world’s second-most valuable sports league on a per-game basis, behind only NFL. And, as Modi wrote in his post on X, each of the teams involved “are valued at US$1 billion based on 16 years of performance”.”By contrast, as per my analysis, The Hundred’s teams are projected to be worth a mere £5 million to £25 million in the best-case scenario in my MOST CONSIDERED #VIEW, with Manchester maxing out at £8.5 million,” he added.”Worse still, The Hundred struggles to match even the Caribbean Premier League’s profitability, a sobering indication of its financial frailty. The Hundred appears to be on shaky financial ground, with projections that fail to inspire confidence in its long-term viability as these look dangerously overambitious and unsustainable.”

NCL round-up: Sylhet remain unbeaten, Chattogram pick up their first win

Amite Hasan sets a new record; Ebadot Hossain makes comeback after 16 months out; Farhad Hossain finishes up after 161 matches

Mohammad Isam12-Nov-2024Amite Hasan’s maiden double-hundred kept Sylhet Division unbeaten in the NCL after they drew against Khulna Division at the academy ground in Cox’s Bazar. According to ESPNcricinfo’s records, Amite’s ten hours and 38 minutes at the crease is the third-longest individual innings in first-class cricket in Bangladesh.Amite struck 18 fours and a six in his 455-ball stay, as he continued on an impressive conversion rate in first-class cricket. He shared a 251-run fourth wicket stand with Asadulla Al Galib, who also scored his maiden century. The end of the partnership, however, became viral content.Late on the second evening, the ball slipped out of offspinner Mahedi Hasan’s grip. Galib advanced towards it as it parachuted down from well above the eyeline, but then he lost balance and mistimed the hit right down long-on’s throat, much to the amusement of the Khulna fielders. It was one of Mahedi’s four wickets. Zia ur Rahman took three.Khulna replied with 273 in their first innings, with captain Anamul Haque and Afif Hossain hitting fifties. After being asked to follow on, the veteran Mohammad Mithun struck his 16th century. Anamul, Imrul Kayes and Nurul Hasan also scored fifties to get Khulna to safety, as they finished the game on 296 for 3. This was also the match in which Ebadot Hossain returned to competitive cricket after July 2023, as he rehabilitated from a long-term injury.Rangpur Division beat Rajshahi Division by 101 runs to take themselves to second position on the points table.Farhad Hossain finishes his 161-match first-class career•BCB
