Barbieri lamenta erros e projeta melhoria do Bragantino no returno do BR

Moeen, Woakes dropped as England look to save face

While England are desperately trying to salvage a miserable run in Tests, New Zealand are eyeing a clean sweep that will take them closer to displacing Australia as the No. 3 Test team

Preview by Andrew McGlashan in Christchurch29-Mar-20182:12

Will England arrest their poor Test form?

Big PictureIf you can avert your gaze from Johannesburg for one moment. New Zealand have five days ahead of them that, whatever the players say, will define their season. Win or draw, and they will secure just a fourth series win over England. Lose, and while 1-1 would be far from a failure, it would be seen as a missed opportunity to gain a significant prize.England are desperately trying to have something tangible to take home from the Test format: their six matches since November have included three innings defeats, a 10-wicket loss and being bowled out for 58. Throughout that time, they have been outdone by seam, swing, pace and spin while they – barring James Anderson with the first two – have produced very little of it themselves.Nothing they have tried away from home over the last 18 months has worked and now they have opted to drop two senior players in Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes, with a possible debut for Somerset left-arm spinner Jack Leach. Whether it helps them combat the New Zealand pace attack, particularly the contrasting left-arm skills of Trent Boult and Neil Wagner, or take 20 wickets remains to be seen.New Zealand have an extra incentive, although not one that is needed or one the players will be fussed about. If they win the series 2-0, and the South Africa-Australia series finishes 2-1 or 3-1 to the home side, New Zealand will move above Australia into third place in the Test rankings. Australia, clearly, have bigger issues on their plate, but for New Zealand, it would be a grand way to finish the season.Form guide(last five completed matches, most recent first)

England LLDLLIn the spotlightCan they do it again? New Zealand’s three-pronged pace attack is as good as any in the world in their own conditions. They shared 17 wickets at Eden Park, with just Tim Southee and Trent Boult needed to blow away England’s first innings. Conditions at Hagley Oval should suit them, with a reasonably grassed pitch, a surface that generally provides bounce, and the chance of some autumnal cloud cover. But, as they showed in Auckland, they can do it under bright sunshine as well. Before this series Alastair Cook spoke of the dark times he experienced in the Ashes and how the Melbourne double-century was important. However, that innings continues to look an anomaly, following twin failures in Auckland, even if the second was an edge down the leg side. From his double hundred against West Indies to now, he has made 487 in two innings, and just 200 in the other 14 in the same period. It really is feast or famine. England would love a double this week, but would happily take a smaller century, or, probably, a base-laying 80.Teams newsIsh Sodhi for the injured Todd Astle was confirmed as the one change for New Zealand.New Zealand 1 Jeet Raval, 2 Tom Latham, 3 Kane Williamson (cap), 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Henry Nicholls, 6 BJ Watling (wk), 7 Colin de Grandhomme, 8 Ish Sodhi, 9 Tim Southee, 10 Neil Wagner, 11 Trent BoultMoeen has been dropped for the first time in his career, while Woakes has paid the price for a wicketless display in Auckland as England confirmed a 12-man squad on the eve of the match. James Vince, Mark Wood and Jack Leach are all named, meaning Leach is in line for a debut should England want a specialist spinner although they could opt for an all-pace attack. Ben Stokes did not bowl at nets on Thursday so would appear unlikely to be an option with the ball. Leaving out Vince and playing Craig Overton at No. 7 would be a lengthy lower order.England (possible) 1 Alastair Cook, 2 Mark Stoneman, 3 James Vince, 4 Joe Root, 5 Dawid Malan, 6 Ben Stokes, 7 Jonny Bairstow (wk), 8 Craig Overton/Jack Leach, 9 Mark Wood, 10 Stuart Broad, 11 James AndersonPitch and conditionsFour Tests and four results at Hagley Oval, with the pitch producing a good contest between bat and ball, unless you are a spinner – they have very much played a supporting role. Late summer appears set to hang on with just a few showers currently forecast for Saturday. Bad light, however, could be an issue as the clocks go back on Sunday. Play will start half an hour earlier to reflect that.Stats and trivia In four Tests at Hagley Oval, New Zealand have bowled just 52 overs of spin and 38 of those came in one innings, by Mark Craig against Sri Lanka Neil Wagner needs three wickets to reach 150 in Test cricket If England fail to level the series they will set a new record of winless matches away from home (13).Quotes”It’s becoming more and more difficult to win going in to other conditions, but what was so disappointing in Auckland was that it wasn’t dissimilar to playing in England. As a batting group, it wasn’t good enough because we’ve had plenty of experience in those conditions. We’re trying to change the way we go about things to find the best way for us to get to 400 and take 20 wickets.”
Joe Root”Think it’s a fairly even playing field. If we look back to the last game, it was nice to come out on the right side, but we know this English team was very well-balanced and talented side. They certainly showed that in the second half of the last game. Coming into tomorrow, I’m sure it will be a close game.”

Arsenal: Gunners could sign £80m star who plays like Harry Kane

The summer window may not even be closed for business yet but Arsenal are already planning moves for the future.

Folarin Balogun is set to leave the club in the coming days and it looks unlikely that the Gunners will sign a replacement now.

Instead, they may wait until the January window of 2024 to bring in another attacking player.

Who could Arsenal sign?

Eddie Nketiah has started the season in wonderful form, scoring against Nottingham Forest on the opening weekend and then finding the net again versus Fulham on Saturday.

Gabriel Jesus has returned from a knee injury too and featured from the bench as a late substitute in that agonising 2-2 draw with the Cottagers.

That said, with Mikel Arteta and Edu seemingly not totally happy with their options in that central striking berth, a mega-money move is being lined up for January.

Indeed, according to the Times, Arsenal and their north London rivals Tottenham are eyeing up a move for Ivan Toney once his ban for betting breaches comes to an end.

It's claimed within the report that the Brentford forward will only be allowed to leave if Thomas Frank's valuation of £80m is met. That is a pretty price for someone who won't have played a match for the best part of eight months.

How many goals has Ivan Toney scored?

The Bees forward has been nothing short of a sensation throughout the last few years of his career, notably earning his first England cap for his remarkable firepower when leading the line.

Last season the 27-year-old fired in 21 goals, after beating the goalkeeper on 14 occasions the season before. It seems, then, that Toney is improving all the time at the elite level of the game, with his Brentford tally now standing at 68 in 124 outings.

What's been said about Ivan Toney?

The powerful striker has earned plenty of praise throughout his career to date, although it's words from Jamie Carragher that perhaps make eyebrows raise the most.

Speaking about Toney in March, the Sky Sports pundit noted that he is "one of the best attacking players in the league", "an all-round footballer" and "reminiscent of Harry Kane."

Indeed, that can be seen through the stats with the two not just boasting that wonderful goal-scoring knack – Kane found the net 32 times last season – but they are both huge threats in the air and work hard to support their teammates.

A graphic courtesy of Sky Sports (put together in March 23) helps to support this claim.

Indeed, at this point in the 2022/23 campaign, they'd created a similar level of big chances and won the ball back at very comparable rates in the middle third and final third of the pitch.

Come the end of the season, the stats were still similar. According to FBref, Kane had won the ball back 33.3% of the time when trying to prevent a player from dribbling with the ball. In comparison, Toney had done so 30.4% of the time.

They'd also won a similar number of aerial duels, with the Brentford hitman coming out on top in that department, 48% to 44%.

Arsenal, therefore, would be getting a rather complete striker if they can bring Toney to the Emirates.

His goals are of course the main plus point, but when it comes to holding up the ball and defending from the front, there aren't many better in the Premier League. To be held in the same company as Kane in that department says it all.

Liverpool Eyeing "Coveted" £26m "Leader" This Month

Liverpool's midfield still feels somewhat lacking despite Jurgen Klopp's side making three acquisitions this summer, and with the summer transfer window in its penultimate week, negotiations could intensify shortly.

What's the latest on Andre to Liverpool?

According to Brazilian outlet Globo GE, the Reds have tabled a €30m (£25m) offer for Fluminense midfielder Andre this summer, though have had the approach rejected with the Brazilian Serie A side in the quarter-finals of the Conmebol Libertadores.

Read the latest Liverpool transfer news HERE…

It is also understood that the 22-year-old holds a €40m (£34m) release clause, per reports in Brazil as relayed by Sport Witness, in his Fluminense contract, but the movement of this deal over the past weeks suggests there is a reluctance to meet the valuation on the Anfield side.

Liverpool have signed Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo this summer, but with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho's sales to Saudi Arabia preceded by the contractual expiries of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, making another signing might be prudent.

How good is Andre?

The tough-tackling, "top-class roaming playmaker" – as hailed by talent scout Jacek Kulig, has been in fine fettle in his homeland for Fluminense, having now made 148 appearances for his only outfit to date.

While there is promise in Liverpool's team following a subpar campaign last term, the need for a first-rate holding midfielder has been paramount, and the failure to sign both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, who both moved to Chelsea despite Liverpool reaching an agreement on price, stung the Merseyside outfit.

If Liverpool manage to negotiate a deal for Andre for about half the £58m Chelsea have paid to Southampton for Lavia, it could prove to be a masterstroke from Klopp and sporting director Jorg Schmadtke with the one-cap Brazil star, especially after the astute £16m transfer of the industrious Endo from Stuttgart.

andre-liverpool-transfer-news-opinion-premier-league

As per Sofascore, Andre has recorded an average rating of 7.14 across 16 outings in the Brasileiro Serie A this season, completing 94% of his passes, making 2.5 tackles per game and succeeding in 64% of his ground duels and 70% of his dribbles, also described as a "leader" by Kulig.

Lavia, comparatively, recorded an average league score of 6.80 with Southampton last term, completing 86% of his passes, averaging 2.1 tackles and winning 58% of his ground duels, albeit playing in the Premier League with a pretty shocking Saints team, who were relegated.

While Lavia is a tremendous talent, highlighted through his ranking among the top 6% of midfielders across Europe's top five leagues over the past year for blocks per 90, as per FBref, Andre perhaps offers a more dynamic skill set to bolster the Liverpool engine room.

Indeed, the South American gem ranks among the top 1% of midfielders across Men's Next Eight divisions for pass completion, the top 2% for passes attempted and the top 7% for successful take-ons per 90, illustrating a passing prowess and energy in the centre that would complement Klopp's high-octane system, so slick and irresistible when at its scorching zenith.

There is no question that Lavia is a prodigious talent, but Andre – who was once hailed as his club's most "coveted" asset by former striker Fred – must be signed as the shrewd alternative now that the Belgian is a part of Stamford Bridge, and it could be a move that pays off handsomely as Liverpool chart a course back to the top.

Klopp Eyeing Gini 2.0 As Liverpool Push For £43m "Greatest Talent"

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp remains interested in Bayern Munich's Ryan Gravenberch as he continues to reassemble the Anfield side's midfield.

Are Liverpool signing Ryan Gravenberch this summer?

That's according to German publication SPORTBILD, which claims that the Premier League outfit are considering returning for the Dutchman after registering an interest earlier this year.

While reports differentiate, it is claimed that Liverpool may have to shell out as much as €50m (£43m) to secure the 21-year-old's signature, with the Bavaria giants having signed him from Ajax for €24m (£20m) one year ago.

The Reds have already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai this summer, with negotiations for Southampton's defensive midfielder Romeo Lavia also occuring, but could move for another central star to restore the balance.

What position is Ryan Gravenberch?

While Gravenberch will have arrived at the Allianz Arena jubilant and raring to go at one of Europe's pre-eminent outfits, the 2022/23 campaign proved to be anything but fruitful for the midfielder, on a personal level.

Gravenberch made 33 appearances for Bayern across all competitions, winning the Bundesliga title and the German Super Cup, but only started three times in the league, very much enshrouded in obscurity.

It's worth remembering that he is at the early stage of what hints at developing into a fantastic career, and made the leap to one of the most imperious outfits in football, but such a peripheral role will unquestionably leave Gravenberch demanding assurances over his role.

The season prior, 21/22, the ace starred for Ajax as one of the most prodigious starlets the club have seen in recent years, recording an average Sofascore rating of 7.17 in the Eredivisie, completing 86% of his passes, averaging 1.1 key passes per game and 1.6 tackles per outing – former Ajax forward Wim Kieft has even hailed him to be the country's "greatest talent".

An industrious and assured presence on the ball, the 11-cap Dutchman could emulate his compatriot Gini Wijnaldum and earn an untouchable starting berth at Anfield.

ryan-gravenberch-newcastle-united-transfer-news-opinion-premier-league

Wijnaldum completed a £25m transfer to Liverpool from Newcastle United in 2016, one year on from the indefatigable ace's departure from Dutch side PSV, and would be pivotal to the illustrious success on Merseyside under Klopp's management, even dubbed "irreplaceable" by writer Richard Jolly.

Wijnaldum plied his trade with perfect precision and care, an unwavering middleman between the defensive and final third and a true stalwart for the club, with his energy levels the turbo-charged engine for Klopp's high-octane system – a view shared by former Feyenoord boss, Gertjan Verbeek:

"His work ethic is very high, always working hard, always stable. He's the leader, not only in talking, but how he plays in the game."

And having never dropped a pass success rate in the Premier League for the Reds below 87%, he was the metronome and left Anfield a legend after forging 237 appearances, notably instrumental in winning the Premier League and Champions League.

Big boots to fill, but Gravenberch has demonstrated the rounded scope of his skill set already, ranking among the top 7% of midfielders across Europe's top five leagues over the past year for shot-creating actions, the top 24% for progressive passes, the top 18% for successful take-ons and the top 27% for tackles per 90, as per FBref.

While the lion's share of the listed metrics are not quite second to none, they illustrate the expansive style of his craft, and just how refined the £151k-per-week conductor could become, if offered a prominent role.

Liverpool might just be able to offer him that.

While he does not waltz into the Merseysiders' starting XI, he boasts the tools to build a successful Premier League career for himself, and the Kop might sing Gravenberch's name in adulation to rival Wijnaldum's in the future – Klopp now needs to get it done.

Manchester United: Red Devils Expected To Bid For Club’s Star Player Imminently

Manchester United are expected to bid for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat very soon, as Erik ten Hag looks to complete his summer spending ahead of the opening day of the Premier League season.

Amrabat would be the Red Devils' fourth signing of the summer.

What's the latest on Sofyan Amrabat to Manchester United?

Fiorentina expect Manchester United to place a €25m (£22m) bid plus bonuses in the coming days, according to reports in Italy, via Sport Witness. They also report that, once a bid is place, the deal should be an easy one to complete because the player is so keen on the move and La Viola have left him out of their pre-season plans.

The report states that the midfielder has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League giants – something which has been previously reported elsewhere too – ahead of a potential move in the coming weeks.

The Red Devils will have their full focus on securing Amrabat's signature after recently completing a deal to sign Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund. The Morrocon stayed behind as Fiorentina went away in pre-season amid links with a move to England's top flight this summer.

With the Premier League season fast-approaching, this is certainly a deal to keep an eye on.

Should Manchester United sign Sofyan Amrabat?

Fiorentina midfielderSofyan Amrabat.

Signing Amrabat this summer would represent smart business by those at Old Trafford, with the midfielder adding needed depth to United's midfield.

Ten Hag has already, of course, reinforced his midfield with the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea, but Amrabat would come in as crucial cover for defensive midfielder Casemiro.

The Brazilian missed a staggering eight games through suspension last season, with United's record significantly worse when without the former Real Madrid man.

In his absence, Ten Hag's side failed to win three of the eight games in a run which included a draw with Leeds United and defeat against Newcastle United.

The man they were forced to turn to without Casemiro was often Scott McTominay, who does not possess the same experience and quality as serial winner Casemiro. According to FBref, the Scotland international made fewer progressive passes, fewer blocks and fewer tackles than Casemiro.

Amrabat could solve that dip in quality, however – the Fiorentina man actually made more progressive passes per 90 than Casemiro last season, according to FBref.

Read the latest Man United transfer news HERE…

He earned plenty of praise for his performances last season, too, including at the World Cup, in which Morocco shocked the world to reach the semi-final stage, where they were defeated by France. Alan Shearer praised Amrabat in Qatar, saying on BBC, via the Liverpool Echo:

"He’s been absolutely magnificent. I said it at the top of the show, they’re really difficult to beat and very good without the ball, and one of the reasons for that is this guy. He gives them so much protection, you can see how many tackles he’s made and he’s a huge part of their success up to now.

"He’ll do exactly what he’s been doing up to now (against France), and this job there, you’ll see him just in front of the back four, maybe a back five tonight, he’ll still be in there, patrolling, trying to read the game, trying to stop any balls into the front players, and that’s what he’s done the entire tournament."

Crystal Palace Set For "Top Signing" This Week

Crystal Palace will have a medical for "top signing" Matheus Franca "this week" after a transfer to Chelsea didn't materialise, per transfers expert Fabrizio Romano.

Is Matheus Franca joining Crystal Palace this summer?

It hasn't been a great transfer window for Palace so far this summer, with the only new face coming through the doors at Selhurst Park being Jefferson Lerma, who joined on a free from Premier League rivals Bournemouth.

Worse still is the loss of club legend and talismanic winger Wilfried Zaha. The Ivorian international left the club earlier this summer when his contract expired, and despite the Eagles offering him an enormous £200,000-a-week, he opted to join Turkish Super Lig side Galatasary to fulfil his dream of playing Champions League football.

That said, it's not all bad, as the club are set to sign an incredibly exciting and highly-rated youngster from Brazil in the coming days, Flamengo's Franca.

Flamengo midfielder Matheus Franca.

With the 19-year-old courting so much attention from the likes of Chelsea and Newcastle United over the last 12 months, it's a real coup for the south Londoners to get their man.

The Guardian has reported that sporting director Dougie Freedman played an 'instrumental' role in the signing after he spent 'some time' scouting the youngster himself.

The deal is said to be worth up to £26m, and the player's medical is set to take place this week, per transfers expert Fabrizio Romano.

He explained the situation on his YouTube channel, saying:

"First of all, Crystal Palace signing Matheus Franca. This is a top signing guys from Flamengo; remember the name €20m (£17m) plus €10m (£9m) in add-ons.

"Medical this week, Chelsea negotiated for Matheus Franca a few weeks ago, the deal was not happening, and now Crystal Palace [will] sign Matheus Franca."

Who else is linked to Crystal Palace this summer?

While the club may be focused on the attacking signing of Franca at the present moment, they have also been touted as the potential destination of the exciting Dutch centre-back Perr Schuurs.

Currently plying his trade for Serie A side Torino, the 23-year-old was brilliant last season. He started 28 games for the Turin side, providing two assists, maintaining a passing accuracy of 88.2% and averaging an impressive match rating of 6.67, per WhoScored.

According to the Evening Standard, the Eagles have 'expressed an interest' in the former Ajax man but will likely face stiff competition from several clubs, including West Ham United and Liverpool.

Perr Schuurs Palace target

Another youngster linked with a move to south London this summer is Leeds United attacker Crysencio Summerville.

According to the Daily Telegraph's Mike McGrath, the 21-year-old is a player that is "admired" by Palace, but he will want to determine the Peacocks' plans for him before he decides on his future.

The Dutchman had a reasonably productive season for the Whites last year. In just 12 starts for the Yorkshire club, he scored four goals, provided two assists and averaged a match rating of 6.46, per WhoScored.

Roy Hodgson's team could be quite an exciting one to watch next year with the addition of Franca, and if they can add any of their other targets over the next month, they might just be fine without the influence of Zaha.

Celtic Can Land Forrest Upgrade in Swoop For 5 Ft 9 Ace

Celtic have already been hit with a frustrating injury blow to one of their new summer recruits as Marco Tilio is set to miss the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

Hoops head coach Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that the winger, who was signed from Australian side Melbourne City on a permanent deal, will not be available for selection for the first couple of months of the season.

However, that does not rule out the possibility of the Scottish giants lining up with a fresh attacking addition on the wing when they face Ross County on the opening day next month.

Celtic have been linked with a swoop for Shakhtar Donetsk forward Tete, who has requested to leave his current club as he does not want to return to Ukraine after loan spells with Lyon and Leicester City, where he scored once in nine Premier League starts.

How good is Tete?

The 23-year-old wizard is a player who has the quality to be an excellent signing for the Hoops, if he is able to translate his form from his time in France over to Scotland, and a big upgrade on James Forrest.

Tete caught the eye as he spent the second half of the 2021/22 campaign and then the first half of the following season on loan at Lyon from Shakhtar.

During his first spell, the Brazilian gem averaged a Sofascore rating of 7.23 across Ligue 1 appearances – a score only two Hoops players bettered last season – and contributed with two goals alongside five assists.

This was followed by six goals and two assists across 17 outings in the French top-flight last season, which earned him an average Sofascore rating of 7.04.

Former Leicester loanee Tete.

Tete, therefore, racked up 15 direct goal contributions in 26 games for Lyon – an average of one every 1.73 games. This shows that the right winger was able to make a significant impact at the top end of the pitch on a regular basis from a wide position, by using his finishing ability and creativity to punish opposition teams.

Forrest, who is also predominantly deployed on the right flank, has struggled to provide quality end product week-in-week-out over the last two seasons.

Last term, the veteran Hoops gem produced four goals and two assists in 16 Scottish Premiership matches, which earned him an average Sofascore rating of 6.94.

This came after the 32-year-old magician averaged a Sofascore rating of 6.74 to go with one goal and two assists over 19 league games for Celtic during the 2021/22 campaign.

These statistics suggest that the potential is there for Tete to offer far more than Forrest in the final third, both in terms of being able to create and score goals, whilst also having the ability to deliver better performances.

The 5 foot 9 dynamo would also come in as someone who already knows what Rodgers wants from his players, as they worked together at Leicester earlier this year before the Northern Irishman's exit.

Tete's touch was hailed as "immaculate" by the ex-Liverpool boss and Celtic's interest in signing him now suggests that the manager saw enough in the young talent in England to suggest that he would improve his squad in Glasgow, which is backed up by the aforementioned statistics.

Liverpool In Talks To Sign "Sensational" £50m Gem

Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for Romeo Lavia this summer and now a new update has emerged on the club's pursuit of the player.

What's the latest on Liverpool's interest in Romeo Lavia?

According to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool are one of the Premier League clubs in "concrete talks" to sign the Southampton midfielder this summer.

Plettenberg took to Twitter to reveal:

"Roméo #Lavia, there are still concrete talks with Chelsea, Arsenal, especially with Liverpool as Klopp is a big fan! #LFC.

"Been told that his price tag is around £50m this summer! Confirmed: Barcelona was targeting the 19 y/o but his price is not affordable for Barca this summer."

What type of midfielder is Romeo Lavia?

Jurgen Klopp and his new sporting director Jorg Schmadtke have wasted no time in kicking off the much-needed midfield rebuild this summer, with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai joining the Merseyside giants ahead of next season.

Whilst the pair will significantly bolster the attacking presence in midfield, there is certainly room for improvement in the more defensive operations in the centre of the pitch with Fabinho struggling to maintain his high standards over the last campaign.

The Brazilian mainstay was subjected to a lot of criticism for his lacklustre performances in the deeper role of the midfield three last season, with talkSPORT pundit Scott Minto slamming the former Monaco man:

"You talk about (Jordan) Henderson, yes, but you talk about Fabinho at the moment. Who is he at the moment? I don’t know who he is, it’s like his twin brother playing at the moment. He’s certainly not the player that he has been in recent years."

Now with a move for Lavia looking a huge possibility, it could spell the end for Fabinho's reign at Anfield and if the Southampton star can make a quick impact in midfield he could become Klopp's most trusted and relied upon presence in the defensive role.

When comparing the positional peers' output during last season, despite only being 19 years old and far less experienced, the Saints star outperformed Fabinho in his successful take-ons rate (56% v 46.7%) and percentage of dribblers tackled (39.6% v 38.7%), as per FBref.

Not only that, the Manchester City academy graduate – hailed "sensational" by journalist Lewis Steele – has completed more tackles per 90 (2.43) compared to Fabinho (2.13) over the last 12 months and has been more successful in interceptions per 90 (1.34 v 1.25) and blocks per 90 (1.90 v 1.25) too.

The only stumbling block Liverpool have to overcome in their interest of Lavia is his inflated price tag with his recently relegated club refusing to budge on the whopping £50m they have put on their young prospect's head this summer, and after already spending over £95m it would come as no surprise to the Anfield faithful if their tight-spending owners refused to sanction the move at the quoted fee.

With that being said, the signing of Lavia would be a major coup for Klopp in his pursuit to build the next generation of talent that can compete for multiple trophies like those before them, and it could ultimately be over for Fabinho if he can't compete with Lavia's output in the Liverpool team next season.
