Burnley have now made an “offer” to a Championship star and have already received a reply, as per Fabrizio Romano.
Burnley thrash Plymouth and prepare for Leeds
Scott Parker’s side were ruthless in the week, putting five past struggling Plymouth Argyle in the first half. Braces from Zian Flemming and Josh Laurent alongside a goal from Josh Cullen ensured that the Clarets head into Monday’s crucial encounter with Leeds United just three points behind the Whites.
Talking after the win in Devon, Parker was full of praise for his side, saying: “I thought we were superb tonight. We came here with a real clear idea and a game plan. We set that up as coaches, it’s down to players to then execute and the players were absolutely first class.
“We needed to come here with a mentality and mindset about us, this is a tough place to come, I know people look at league tables and may see a very different story.
“But a new manager in, an aggressive team, I played against this coach once in Belgium and had some struggles in a sense of how he sets up teams, so I knew the challenge here. We were just ruthless tonight. I thought we had everything about us.”
It has also been a productive month away from the pitch in the transfer market, with Burnley signing Ashley Barnes and Jonjo Shelvey in free transfers, while also landing Oliver Sonne.
More could be on the way before the February 3 deadline, though, with a bid for Plymouth star Morgan Whittaker being tabled earlier this month. Another Championship attacking star is also of interest to those at Turf Moor in West Brom’s Grady Diangana.
Burnley make Diangana “offer” – Romano
According to transfer expert Romano, Burnley have made an “offer” to sign Diangana, who is out of contract at The Hawthorns in the summer.
However, the Baggies star has “turned down” Burnley’s proposal, with Italian outfit Parma and Spanish club Celta Vigo also keen on Diangana’s services.
Called “exceptional” by journalist Jonny Drury in 2023, Diangana has been a West Brom player since 2020 after making his loan move from West Ham permanent.
Capable of playing on either wing or as an attacking midfielder, the 26-year-old is approaching 200 appearances as a Baggies player, however, his days in the Midlands could be numbered going off the recent update.

His next move may not be to Burnley, though, after turning down an offer from the Clarets, so it’ll be interesting to see who those at Turf Moor turn to next as they eye an attacking reinforcement.
What an instantaneous impact Vítor Pereira has made at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
When Gary O’Neil was sacked in mid-December, Wolves had just lost four successive Premier League matches, winning only three of their last 26, dating back to early-March.
Thus, few would’ve forecast Pereira’s reign would commence with back-to-back victories, hammering Leicester and then toppling Manchester United on Boxing Day, before earning a credible 2-2 draw with Spurs last Sunday; Jørgen Strand Larsen lashing home a late equaliser from an acute angle in North London.
Wolverhampton Wanderers managerVitorPereirareacts after the match
However, ahead of Monday night’s clash with Nottingham Forest at Molineux, only goal difference is keeping Wolves out of the bottom three, meaning supporters are certainly still concerned.
After this, the Old Gold’s next five league opponents are Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool, hence why Pereira will surely be eager to strengthen his squad in January.
Champions League winner could sign for Wolves
According to reports from Turkish outlet Sabah Spor, Wolves are in talks with the agent of former Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech, to sign him.
Currently with Galatasaray, the report suggests that Ziyech is no longer training, as he seeks to force through a January move, having not even been on the bench for the Süper Lig leaders’ last three matches.
Chelsea forward Hakim Ziyech.
Ziyech burst onto the scene during his time with Ajax, a key figure as they reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2019, earning him a £33.6m move to Chelsea, with whom he won the Champions League, before being cast aside following the change in ownership.
The Moroccan then moved to Galatasaray in August 2023 for a fee of around £3m, most notably scoring two free-kicks in the same game as the Turkish giants held Manchester United to a 3-3 draw in the Champions League.
Now, out of favour in İstanbul, starting only three matches so far this season, Ziyech is likely to be available at a cut price. One journalist on the continent claims he will move this month “no doubt”, and Wolves seemingly lead the race to land his signature.

How Hakim Ziyech would improve Wolves
As Sam Dean of the Telegraph documented, Ziyech earned the nickname “the Wizard of Amsterdam” during his time at Ajax, with Goal describing him as “magic”.
Now though, approaching his 32nd birthday, just how good is Ziyech, and how does he compare to Hwang Hee-chan, the player he’d surely be seeking to replace in the front three, alongside Matheus Cunha and Jørgen Strand Larsen?

As outlined in the table, Hwang and Ziyech are very different players.
The South Korean is a goal-scoring wide-forward, netting in Wolves’ last two Premier League matches against Man United and then Tottenham.
In contrast, Ziyech is a creator, accumulating 81 assists during his time at Ajax, as well as 13 for Chelsea, underlined by his numbers when it comes to both passes and crosses into the penalty area.
Considering Wolves have the fourth-lowest xG figure of any team in the Premier League this season (19.4), a creator-in-chief could be just what Pereira’s team require this month, underlining why Ziyech could be both an opportunistic but also an astute edition in their battle against the drop.
Dream first Pereira signing: Wolves could land "exquisite" Larsen upgrade
Vitor Pereira could welcome in this exciting new player as his first signing at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Nuno Espírito Santo has conducted excellent work in charge of Nottingham Forest this season, leading them to fifth place in the Premier League after the first 15 outings.
He’s made the Reds a tough outfit to break down, exceeding all expectations in the opening months of 2024/25 after impressive business during the off-season.
Nikola Milenkovic will undoubtedly go down as one of the signings of the season, starting at the heart of Nuno’s backline, providing that real commanding figure that the club have been lacking over the years.
The Serbian scored his first goal for the club in the win over Manchester United at the weekend, now making his £12m transfer fee look like a bargain and worth way more than what they paid for his services.
However, their dealings in the window haven’t all been successful, often wasting a lorryload of money on players who simply aren’t up to the level required of the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest's worst signings since promotion
After fending off interest from West Ham United, the addition of Jesse Lingard gave the supporters a huge buzz of excitement, especially given his top-flight experience and quality.
Despite the early promise, the move would be a disaster, making just 20 appearances in all competitions – scoring twice with none coming in the Premier League.
Jesse Lingard
He cost a pretty penny despite arriving on a free transfer, earning £115k-per-week, making him the highest-paid player in Forest’s history at the time of his move to the City Ground.
Goalkeeper Matt Turner joined in the summer of 2023, looking to provide long-term stability in the goalkeeper department after various loan deals the season prior.
However, the move for the American international was a disaster, featuring 21 times in all competitions before being dropped by Nuno upon his arrival last December.
The former Arsenal talent had a save prevention rate of -5.45, showcasing how often he was to blame for needless errors during his spell as a regular starter.
One other player has been just as disappointing during his own spell in the East Midlands, with Nuno desperately needing to offload him in January.
The player who Nottingham Forest need to offload in January
Attacker Emmanuel Dennis brought about huge excitement after costing £20m during the summer of 2022 – looking to provide the quality needed to secure their top-flight status in the first year after a 23-year absence.
Expectations were also placed on his shoulders given his record the season prior with Watford, scoring ten times despite the Hornets’ eventual relegation back to England’s second tier.
However, his time at the City Ground has been a disaster, only making 25 appearances in all competitions despite former boss Steve Cooper dubbing him as a “game changer” upon his transfer.
The Nigerian only notched two goals in his first season in Nottingham, before being sent on multiple loan spells in 2023/24 to Istanbul Basaksehir and former side Watford.
Neither move could catapult him into Nuno’s plans during pre-season, and despite going on the tour of Spain, he wasn’t included in the Premier League squad and also failed to secure a move away.
The 27-year-old still remains on the club’s books despite not featuring since April 2023, pocketing a small fortune in the process, burning a while in their finances.

Given his £40k-per-week wages, the hierarchy desperately needs to offload the attacker in January, or even offer a mutual termination to get him off the wage bill and potentially allow for new signings.
It’s such a shame to see a player with high expectations fail to deliver, but his time at the City Ground has been dreadful, simply being unable to adhere himself to the fanbase.
Nottingham Forest's Emmanuel Dennis
There’s no doubt that if they were to try and sell him next month they would be lucky to recoup the majority of the fee spent on his services, but ultimately, anything is a bonus at this point given his lack of impact since arriving.

The United boss is determined to sign a wide player in the summer transfer window as Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford are unlikely to return after their respective loan spells at Chelsea and Aston Villa. As a result, Amorim is eyeing a move for Sporting CP star Trincao, who scored a brace in Portugal's latest victory over Denmark in the Nations League.

Per , Newcastle United and Arsenal have also shown interest in signing the winger in the summer but the Red Devils' biggest competitor in the transfer market will be Trincao's former club Barcelona, who reportedly retain a buy-back option of little more than £20 million ($25m).
DID YOU KNOW?
Despite the competition from the Blaugrana, ex-Sporting boss Amorim remains hopeful that his past relationship with the player will convince him to move to Manchester ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. Trincao, who is a left-footed right winger, is capable of operating on both flanks and can also be deployed in the middle.

Walker left City in January to join Milan on loan for the rest of the season after he fell out of favour under Pep Guardiola, starting just nine Premier League matches in the first half of the season. The 34-year-old continues to make headlines off the field, too, having been spotted with two women after his wife Annie Kilner returned to England with the couple's children.

WHAT NEXT FOR WALKER?
The former Tottenham star will soon return to Italy as his Milan team prepare to face Cesc Fabregas' Como in Serie A on Saturday.
Leeds United are making transfer plans for January, as manager Daniel Farke attempts to keep pace with Sunderland at the top of the Championship table.
Leeds host Plymouth as Farke continues promotion push
The Whites take on Plymouth Argyle at Elland Road this afternoon, with Leeds firmly in the mix for promotion back to England’s top flight despite losing a host of star players over the summer transfer window.
Leeds United could bid for "scintillating" £10m-plus Rutter replacement
The Whites need to sign a new winger urgently.
ByEmilio Galantini Aug 17, 2024
Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Archie Gray were among the high-profile departures from West Yorkshire in what was seen as a major blow for Farke at the time – but Leeds have responded pretty impressively.
Losing just once all season so far, Leeds are just five points off top spot ahead of Saturday’s clash, and level on points with Burnley, who currently occupy the second automatic promotion place in the Championship table.
Winning six and drawing five of their other 11 Championship matches, Farke’s only gripe will be the amount of level scores that could’ve been victories, but they’ve also done well to cope with a fair few injuries to key players this term.

Summer signing Manor Solomon’s hamstring injury caused him to miss four league games, with the Israel international slowly accumulating more minutes after returning to action against Sheffield United midway through last month.
Meanwhile, Farke could be without a plethora of other stars as they prepare to host Plymouth this afternoon, including Daniel James and Patrick Bamford.
“Wober has been back in team training since Tuesday. He has been out for five and a half weeks. It was an individual session. He could be involved before the next international break,” said Farke on Leeds team news ahead of Plymouth in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
“We will make a late decision on Joe Gelhardt. Daniel James has problems with his hamstring. Patrick Bamford, adductor. Final test tomorrow. We will make late decisions on them. It depends on how they come through the session tomorrow.”
Leeds could look to sign Lewis O'Brien in January
This wave of absentees highlights the need for strength in depth, considering their push for promotion could well be threatened if Farke does not have alternatives to crucial stars.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke, sharing news for Football Insider, says that Leeds could look to sign Los Angeles FC midfielder Lewis O’Brien in January.
The 26-year-old, who is currently on loan in MLS from Nottingham Forest, appears surplus to requirements in the eyes of Nuno Espirito Santo – handing the 49ers a possible opportunity.
O’Rourke claims ex-Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa came “very close” to signing O’Brien during his spell in charge, so club chiefs should be more than familiar with him. His spell across the pond has yielded a return of one assist in nine full starts, with the “special” Englishman becoming a mainstay under Steve Cherundolo.

Persistent rain washed out day two at Centurion, with the umpires calling off play at 1.55pm local time. There had been overnight rain in the Centurion area, and intermittent showers through the morning and afternoon ensured there was no possibility of play. The weather relented twice, causing the umpires to announce inspections at 11.30am – with an early lunch taken – and 12.45pm, but rain returned on both occasions to dampen hopes of a resumption.Related
Covid-19 after-effects, hamstring niggle forced Duanne Olivier to sit out Centurion Test
Clearer weather is expected on days three and four, but there is more rain forecast for day five, meaning there is likely to be further time lost and a diminished chance of a decisive result. Conditions so far have not been conducive to flurries of wickets, with the pitch playing flat apart from the occasional instance of inconsistent bounce.Given the state of the game, the washout has probably caused more frustration in India’s camp than South Africa’s. At stumps on day one, the visitors had laid a strong platform, moving to 272 for 3 with the centurion KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane at the crease, having already put on 73 for the fourth wicket.Rahul was also involved in stands of 117 for the first wicket with Mayank Agarwal, who made 60, and 82 for the third wicket with Virat Kohli. Lungi Ngidi was the only wicket-taker for South Africa, ending day one with figures of 3 for 45.As such, day two’s biggest development came off the field, with CSA confirming that Duanne Olivier had missed out on selection owing to the lingering effects of Covid-19, which he tested positive for a few weeks ago, and a hamstring niggle. The left-arm seamer Marco Jansen, chosen in Olivier’s place, endured a tough start to his Test career, ending day one with figures of 0 for 61 in 17 overs.

WHAT HAPPENED?
According to former Marseille player Eric Di Meco, the "coexistence" between two similar forward players in Mbappe and Vinicius Jr was always going to be "difficult". And with the Frenchman being such a "mental and sporting monster", De Meco believes the Brazilian's form is suffering as a result.

MBAPPE HAS "CRUSHED" VINICIUS JUNIOR
Di Meco said on Super Moscato Show, via AS: “Signing Mbappé was Florentino Pérez's dream. He has followed his dream. Madrid's sporting dream too, because Mbappé is a player that everyone wants to have in the squad. However, you are putting two roosters in the same henhouse.
"We suspected that the coexistence between Mbappé and Vinicius would be difficult. Florentino Perez told himself that Ancelotti would solve the problems in the dressing room. First we asked ourselves if Mbappé would be able to adapt to this team that had won a lot.
"At the beginning of the season we said to ourselves: 'Oh, there is going to be a problem and he is the one who is going to pay for it'. But we forgot that Mbappé is a mental and sporting monster. With his performances and his attitude, he is starting to make Vinicius crack. Mbappé is crushing him."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
While Mbappe has been firing on all cylinders of late, Vinicius has struggled for goals and form since December 2024. The 24-year-old was initially out with a muscle injury and then was sent off against Valencia later that month. And the 2024 Ballon d'Or runner-up, who may have been distracted by Saudi Arabia links, hasn't scored in La Liga since early November.
